General Information

Shine Nursery is registered with Ofsted for 85 children aged 0-5 years. It is in Quarry Bank close to Cradley Heath Train Station, to main bus links and Merry Hill Shopping Centre. The nursery is a beautiful, light, airy and well-resourced environment both indoors and out. We offer high quality care and learning and are inclusive of all children.

Hours of Opening: 7.45am – 5.45pm Monday to Friday
(51 weeks a year – closed for Christmas week)

We offer full or part time places to fee paying parents at times to suit parents/ children’s needs and when available.

We offer fully funded free places for:

eligible babies – working parents (between 7.45am and 5.45pm – half days available)
eligible Time for Twos (usually between 9.15am and 12.15pm or 1.00pm and 4.00pm, daily during term time)
eligible two year olds - working parents (usually between 9.15am and 3.15pm daily during term time or 7.45am to 5.45pm three days a week)
all 3 and 4 year olds for 15 hours a week (usually between 9.00am and 12.00 noon or 1.00pm to 4.00pm daily during term time)
30 hours a week for eligible children – working parents (usually between 9.00am and 3.00pm, daily during term time or 7.45am to 5.45pm three days a week)
Additional wraparound hours and holiday provision can be booked at an additional charge.

We charge for meals and snacks in line with government guidelines. Charging information is available on request or through Dudley Family Information Service.

We are also registered for parents who claim tax free childcare.

We are happy to discuss parent’s individual childcare needs and we will try to accommodate them, wherever possible, depending on children’s routines and staffing levels within the nursery. We are also happy to discuss charges.

Fees are paid monthly in advance by Standing Order or Childcare Vouchers. Parents do not pay for the week nursery is closed or for Bank Holidays. Settling in sessions and induction will be charged if they fall outside of your funded hours.

If you decide to take a place at Shine Nursery, then you will complete admission forms and we will obtain proof of ID etc (in line with lawful practice) We will allocate a member of staff (key person) who will build a positive relationship with you and your child in order to identify and meet their needs. The key person will be a point of contact for you, but of course you can speak to the manager or other staff at anytime, as necessary.

The next stage will be to arrange settling in sessions so that the key person can get to know your child’s likes, dislikes, abilities and individual needs. We will then arrange a start date.
